Paper Silhouette Art Program
Paper Silhouette Art is a process where the artist cuts an individual’s profile, entirely by hand, in black paper. The black silhouette is placed on a white or ivory background, allowing the fine points of the silhouette to show through.
A lost art, this new program is getting rave reviews from our clients as they are looking for unique and interesting entertainment ideas for their students, employees, guests, clients, and customers. This is a wonderfully interactive program as your guests get to participate in the process. Whether being the recipient of the paper silhouette or watching the artist meticulously cut the image, guests are amazed at the artwork that comes to life in minutes.
If you are interested in creating a memorable event experience for your guests, this program will allow everyone to participate. Call FUN Enterprises for more information on the Paper Silhouette Art Program – 781-436-3187.
What is Paper Silhouette Art?
“Cutting portraits, generally in profile, from black card became popular in the mid-18th century, though the term “silhouette” was seldom used until the early decades of the 19th century, and the tradition has continued under this name into the 21st century. They represented a cheap but effective alternative to the portrait miniature, and skilled specialist artists could cut a high-quality bust portrait, by far the most common style, in a matter of minutes, working purely by eye.”
